The Perks of Frequent Travel
Traveling all the time has its downsides: never-ending jet lag, forced consumption of FOX/CNN talking heads in the airport, time away from my husband, achy back/neck. The list could go on and on, but there are some perks. One of the positive benefits of being a frequent flyer that I received recently was a security line surprise.
I landed on the TSA PreCheck list for expedited security. I'm not really sure how this happened, but I think it may be a perk associated with the Gold Medallion status that I have through Delta.
So what this mean is that not only can I zoom past the normal security line into the priority line, now I am branched even further into an expedited line that allows me to pass through security without removing my shoes, laptop, toiletries, etc. I have no idea how the selection process works, and the details on the TSA website are a little murky. The site suggests that airlines give frequent flyers the opportunity to opt-in. If this is true, I must have missed it. Either way, expedited security is pretty sweet.
Has anyone else had this experience with airline security? Love to hear your rants/raves.
